Master of Hospitality Management (MHM)

Welcome to the Master of Hospitality Management (MHM) program at Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM), a premier institution dedicated to cultivating the leaders, entrepreneurs, and managers of tomorrow's hospitality industry. Our comprehensive two-year (four semesters) course is meticulously designed for graduates of Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM), Bachelor of Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM), and students from any discipline with a minimum of two years of experience in the hospitality industry.

Program Objectives:

  • To provide the competencies required to become successful entrepreneurs, leaders, and managers in the hospitality industry.
  • To foster entrepreneurial capabilities and various skills needed for the hospitality industry in a global context.
  • To prepare students to be effective change agents in Nepali society, particularly within the hospitality sector.
  • To prepare students for advanced studies.

Graduates of the MHM program will be well-prepared to take on leadership roles in various sectors of the hospitality industry, including hotels, resorts, restaurants, travel agencies, airlines, event management companies, and more. Our alumni are equipped to become successful entrepreneurs, innovative managers, professional researchers and influential leaders who drive positive change in the hospitality sector.

Curricular Structure

The MHM Program has been spread over four semesters for total program duration of two years. The total of 69 credit hours of teaching learning has been provisioned as the academic requirements for earning a master’s degree.

I. Compulsory and Core Courses: 33 Credit Hours

II. Focus Area Courses: 24 Credit Hours

III. Elective Courses: 03 Credit Hours

IV. Policy Analysis Course: 03 Credit Hours

V. Thesis: 06 Credit Hours

Other fees

  • All applicable examination fees, to be determined by Tribhuvan University, must be paid before each semester's examinations.
  • Cost for tours & excursions, sports events, cultural functions etc. shall be calculated and collected on a pro-rata basis from the students at the time of the event.
  • In case of accidents and injuries inflicted upon the students, the academy will provide First Aid treatment as available at the academy
  • The additional fee should be borne by students for the internship program inside or outside Nepal, if applicable. Occupy supervisory positions in the hotel and catering industry with adequate management skills and knowledge

Graduation Requirements

To be able to graduate with the MHM degree, the students should fulfil the following requirements.

  • Students are required to have a minimum of 80% attendance in each subject to appear in the semester examination.
