BACHELOR OF TRAVEL AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT (BTTM)

OBJECTIVES

The BTTM program has been designed to groom the students to enter the travel & tourism industry as middle management level employees. Upon completion of the course the students:

  • will be able to gain an understanding of travel and tourism and its operations both in theories and practices,
  • will be able to handle functions of international tourist service operations including handling, managing and planning tours, treks and rafting programs and handling domestic and international air ticketing,
  • will be able to apprehend and appreciate tourism marketing, tourism development planning, management and measurement,
  • will be qualified to pursue further (advanced) courses in travel and tourism management,
  • will be able to develop an entrepreneurial instinct required for the travel and tourism industry.
The BTTM program is spread over a period of eight semesters (Four Years) consisting of 126 credit hours.

All amounts are in Nepalese Rupees. The above-mentioned course fees are subject to change.
  • The first installment of Rs. 125,000 must be paid at the time of admission.
  •  All other installments should be paid within twenty-one days of commencement each semester. (Failing to meet the deadline will be penalized with Rs. 10 per day till four weeks).
  • Students failing to deposit the fee within the grace period of 4 weeks without any genuine reasons shall not be allowed to continue with the degree.
OTHER FEES:
  • All applicable examination fees, to be determined by Tribhuvan University, must be paid before each semester examinations.
  • Cost for tours & excursions, sport events, cultural function etc. shall be calculated and collected on a pro-rata basis from the students at the time of event.
  • The cost of the designated uniform and journals shall be borne by the students
  • In case of accidents and injuries inflicted upon the students, the academy will provide First Aid treatment as available at the academy
Eligibility Criteria:

For BTTM
Applicants must have minimum ‘D+’ grade in each subject of class 11 and 12 with minimum CGPA 1.8 or second division in 10+2, PCL or Equivalent degree in any discipline. The applicants must have studied English as a Compulsory Subject.

Admission Procedure for BTTM :

The students aspiring to join BTTM students are screened through two stages of admission tests. In the first stage, the interested candidates should appear for the CMAT conducted by Tribhuvan University. To appear in this test, applicants should fill application form enclosing the following documents:
  • Marksheet & Character certificate of SLC/SEE
  • Transcript, Character Certificate and Migration Certificate of 10+2
  • Two recent passport size photographs
The applicants securing more than 40% marks in CMAT are eligible to appear for the second stage of admission test. The second stage of admission test consists of Group Discussion & Personal Interview.

On the basis of cumulative marks obtained by the students calculated on the basis of 30% from the score of 10+2, 50% from the CMAT and 20% marks from the Group Discussion and Personal Interview; a merit list is published and the qualified candidates can get admission in the BHM and BTTM programs at NATHM

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS FOR BTTM PROGRAM
To be able to graduate with the BTTM degree, the students should fulfill the following requirements.
  • Students are required to attend  regularly all theory and practical classes, assignments,  Industrial Attachment, study tour, field trip, seminars and presentations as required by the course. A student is required to attend  at least 80 percent of such activities in order to qualify for the semester examination.
  • Students must secure a minimum of Grade ‘B’ or Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 in the internal  evaluation  in order to qualify to appear in the semester examination.  In order to pass the semester examination  the student must secure Grade ‘B’ or the average Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.00.
  • Successful completion of 69 credit hours passing grades in each of them.
  •  Successful completion Project Work.
  • Completion of courses for the fulfillment of the requirements of the MHM program must occur within four years from the time of registration.
UNIFORM FOR BTTM STUDENTS
Students are strictly required to follow the uniform protocols of the academy and adhere to the following uniform.
White Shirt, Blue Trousers/Skirt, Blue Blazer, Black Shoes, Tie and Blue Socks

Internship Opportunities for Students:

The students of BTTM program have to complete a 6-month long internship in their 7th Semester to fulfil the requirement of the course. BTTM students are being offered internship at Tribhuvan International Airport by Nepal airlines Corporation since 2007 and by Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal since 2009. Since the beginning of 2020, Department of Immigration is also offering internship to BTTM students at Tribhuvan International Airport where the students are assigned the job of assisting the travelers.
